Keep in mind that Ljubljana is a small city, and after a full day of exploring, you might find yourself running out of things to do. My suggestion—an obvious one—is to take a day trip to Lake Bled. There are frequent buses to the lake, and you'll be back in Ljubljana in time for dinner.
