From my experience of staying 3 days, I can tell you that after this amount of time you will have seen every inch of the island, and whilst I came to this specific island to relax, I think a week-long stay would be too long. Although, that said, I could have stayed a bit longer. I personally loved Gili Meno.
Gili Meno 1 Day Itinerary (Quick Visit)
If you are short on time or island hopping, 1 day is enough to get a feel for Gili Meno.
Arrive in the morning by boat. If you are coming from Bali your arrival time will be dictated by the ferry timetable. Once you arrive, walk or cycle around the island, which usually takes about 1–2 hours depending on how often you stop. Spend some time relaxing on the beach, especially the quieter south side, and go snorkelling straight off the shore.
If you are staying the night, watch sunset on the west side. And if you do stay, I can highly recommend getting up for sunrise too.
Really, this is best for people staying on Gili T or Gili Air, or if you are already on the west side of Lombok. Taking the ferry from Bali for one night is a bit far.
Gili Meno 2 Day Itinerary (Ideal Stay)
This is where Gili Meno really starts to make sense.
With 2 days and 1–2 nights, you can slow down and actually enjoy the island rather than just ticking it off. On day 1, arrive and check into your hotel, spend the afternoon on the beach, have sunset drinks at a beachfront restaurant, and enjoy a relaxed dinner with no rush and no crowds.
Then on the next day, enjoy a bit of morning snorkelling. Turtles are common here. After that, cycle or walk around the island, stop for lunch at a local warung or beachfront café, and leave the afternoon free to relax.
This is best for couples wanting to relax, first-time visitors, and anyone wanting a balance of relaxation and light activity.
Gili Meno 3 Day Itinerary (Slow Travel)
If you want to fully switch off, 3 days is perfect. This is less about doing more and more about doing less.
Day 1: Arrival followed by beach time, sunset, and dinner.
Day 2: Snorkelling trip or DIY snorkelling, explore quieter parts of the island,
enjoy a long slow lunch, then evening drinks.
Day 3: Relaxed morning with beach time, swimming, coffee, and maybe an optional bike ride.
This stay length is best for honeymoon-style trips, relaxation-focused travel, and people escaping busy Bali.
My Honest Recommendation
For most travellers, stay 2 nights and 3 days. It is long enough to experience the island properly and relax without feeling rushed, while still avoiding that repetitive feeling that can come with staying too long.
Personally, this felt like the perfect amount of time. By the end of my stay, I had done everything I wanted, but I also would not have wanted to leave any earlier.
